The Holy Ghost Evangelistic Ministry (HGEM) has held its 3rd annual Breakfast meeting with a call on Christians to build their faith in the Lord and support their churches to reach greatness.
This year’s encounter was staged at the Crown Premier Hotel, Lashibi last Saturday. It brought together young and dedicated Christians as well as revered men of God whose efforts are of great importance to the growth of the church.
Since 2014, the HGEM has been organizing breakfast meetings once every year for its core members, sympathisers of the ministry and the general public. The motive is to assess the current fairing of the ministry, identify the loopholes, and set fresh targets for the future in the effort to achieve the vision of the Ministry.
This year’s gathering was observed under the theme, “The Key to Fruitfulness” as captured in John 15:5.
According to the General Overseer of the HGEM, Apostle Akwasi Dartey, the theme was inspired by the need to help members uncover the secrets to fruitfulness in all their endeavours.
“Key to fruitfulness is one of the areas the church is not looking at. I believe that everyone is born to do ministry. Even if you are a lawyer, pharmacist, it is incumbent on you to do ministry. And I believe that for you to be fruitful in your profession, you need to add ministry to it so that you can flourish in that area,” he advised.
He explained that one of the things challenging the work of God today is the habit of inconsistencies on the part of members. Stressing that ministry is the duty of all, he made emphasis on the need for the youth to be actively involved in the work of God regardless their academic qualifications.
“In my ministry for instance, we are really focusing on the youth. We need to assemble Generals for Christ. The attention of the youth today has been drawn into worldly affairs. It is very bad because they are the future of the church. The work of God is continuous so it is the duty of the youth to continue from where their father’s ended”, he said.
Apostle Dartey further revealed that one of the ways members of the church could tap into God’s blessings was for them to support the expansion and growth of the church. According to him, all successful ministries we see today survived turbulent moments due to the selfless commitment of its members.
He however, expressed worry about the wrong path the church is threading. He is of the view that the church today is indulging in worldly practices which are contrary to the wills of Christ.
“There have to be order and decency in the church. The church is now of architectural purposes. People are reading the word not for demonstration of power or signs but for argument purposes. We have to eradicate that behaviour and make the church realize the very purpose for which it was established. If we continue to lose our focus, the purpose for which Christ established the church would be forgotten and souls would be lost, he stated.
Apostle Dartey further charged young and growing Ministries to let their source of inspiration be connected to God and not men who have the tendency to disappoint.
The Holy Ghost Evangelistic Ministry was initiated in 2012. It is the expectation of the ministry to touch more lives and raise more youth for Christ as well as reach out to the needy in society.
