Willie and Mike plan double wedding to crown 20th Anniversary

One of Ghana’s most inspiring and impactful male worship duo Willie and Mike have told Adom News that they will be holding a big double wedding later this year to crown their 20thAnniversary celebration.
Their  fiancés are currently both living and working in the United States of America, but they hinted that the two-in-one wedding will be held in Accra.
“We are telling everybody that the wedding is part of this 20th anniversary this year – it is coming on live but we will tell you the date later,” they told Adom News, beaming with smiles.
Even though, they did not give details, the duo hinted it is being planned to go down the annals of Ghana’s gospel music industry as one of the grandest events ever.
Meanwhile, the group has begun their 20th anniversary road show, promising to deliver a number of variety concerts and charity activities across the country.
The group begun the road show at Gadiel Ackwaah Methodist Church in Tarkwa with a music concerts and a comedy show, and also made a cash donation and some items at the Tarkwa Prisons.
They have been telling Adom News that between now and May 2015, similar shows including comedy, music and fashion shows would be held in Tamale, Bolga and Accra, and the bigger show will be held Kumasi towards the end of the year.
The Tamale and Bolga shows would be held at the Fountain Gate Chapel branches in those regions on March 27th and 29th respectively, while the Accra show in is slated for the Tesano Baptist Church on May 10, 2015.
One of the two, William Asamoah told Adom News “we will also be making donations to various needy homes and individuals after every concert during this celebration.”
He said the group has been traveling for six months every year, but this year they have decided to stay in Ghana for nine months so they could share their 20th Anniversary with their fun base in Ghana because “Ghana is our home.”
“Because of this our fans from around the world will be joining us in Ghana for the May big concert in Accra,” he said.
Willie said they would be using the May big show in Accra to also launch their new and 5th 15-track album titled “Presence”.
The album features lots of hymns, worship songs, some indigenous agbadza, some reggae, urban praise and an upbeat tunes featuring Joe Mettle. They also have a remix version of the title track of their first album, “Menpene” (I won’t accept).
The other one of the two, Michael Adomako also told Adom News they will feature some of Ghana’s finest gospel music acts on their concert.
The guest artistes include Ghana’s leading international acappella quartet, Alabaster Box, Uncle Ato, the evergreen Daughters of Glorious Jesus, OJ, Uncle Ato, Agnes Opoku Agyeman and others.
“And we are taking the opportunity to feature some upcoming new artistes that people don’t know yet – we want to give them the platform,” he added.
Over the past 20 years, Willie and Mike have chalked some impressive milestones including recording five albums, namely Menpene, Nkomhye (prophecy), Covenant Keeping God, Favour and the new one Presence.
They have also established their own record label called Favor Family Production, Willie and Mike Rentals Company, which rents out musical instruments and other equipment for functions, and the charity wing called the Willie and Mike Foundation.
Mike said they have lined up a number of young artistes they will be recording on the Favor Family Productions label beginning next year.
