Gospel icon Joe Mettle has managed to erase the accepted convention that the VGMA’s “Artist of the year” prize is the preserve of the secular musicians.

Joe Mettle was pronounced the overall Artist Of The Year in the in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards that took off on Saturday night.

It was all joy for the Gospel industry folks

He wrestled for the title against very formidable contenders like EL, Sarkodie, Medikal, Stonebwoy, and MzVee.

Joe Mettle winning the ultimate prize automatically puts his name on the history sheet as no Gospel artist has ever made it to that pedestal for the past seventeen years.
