Sonnie Badu Advices African Musicians To Write More Love Songs

sonnie baduCelebrated Ghanaian gospel artiste and multiple award winner, Sonnie Badu has urged African musicians to produce more love songs instead of sex songs.
In a post through his official Instagram page, Sonnie expressed his opinion on how Nigerian artistes are able climb up the international ladder faster that their other African counterparts.
He said ”

Some one asked me why Nigerian circular music Are doing so well in the world now and what they can do to get on the international scene .. Now this was my answer.. 90% of Nigerians secular musicians all write about love and romance , which is perfect for private parties weddings and all (and you know that chief will pay big bugs) .. So even the old man wants to buy it and have quality time with his wife.. Now love songs are good, when you want to spend quality time with your wife, you don’t play Holy Spirit come down 🙈🙈🙈… For the other side of africa (I will not mention and country ) 98% of musicians write about sex , and what they want to do to a woman in bed, now which wedding or private party or parents will buy this ? So eventually the music fades out.. Try writing love songs and get a good producer who understands the international sound , and let me know the results ..”

This has not been the first time Sonnie has been heard speaking his mind on pertinent secular issues as this and this will certainly not be his last.
