Simon Dugbatey commonly referred to as Bro.Simon is a gospel artist and a fashion designer who began his ministry at a very tender age, singing in churches and gospel programmes.
Simon was raised under strict Christian upbringing by his spiritual father,reverend Prince Baidoo, a prominent pastor in the industrial corridor of Ghana,Tema. It was under his tutulage and discipline that has brought Bro. Simon to the gospel front and his long passion for God. Although Simon had been a worship leader from his youth, his utmost desire was to be a fashion desire.
Simon was inspired to singing by his step mum who will sing and praise God in tears anytime she is in pain and trouble. Simon being closer to her, mostly sang alongside with her anytime she is in that situation. It was in this time bro.simon decided to follow God and to seek for answers from God in worship and praise which eventually grew his passion to singing.
Bro.Simon released his debut album “SALVATION” on 27th April 2013 which he described as his expression to God in appreciating Him for Jesus Christ with which he featured S.P. Kofi Sarpong on one of his tracks.
Bro. Simon have been singing close to 20 years and he is undoubtedly one of the faithful and good gospel backers in the country.He has already sang alongside top gospel artist in the country like S.P. Kofi Sarpong,Daughters of Glorious Jesus, The late Kusi Brempong, Grace Ashy, Andy Frimpong Manso, Kweku Gyasi et al.
Bro. Simon was the lead vocalist in a music reality show ” bands alive” on TV3 and sang for ” the sax”. These all notwithstanding, Bro.Simon has performed on bigger platforms such as the pulpit, African worship with Sonnie Badu (both in Accra and kumasi), music music, Adom live worship, to name but a few.
He is described as the young man with the golden female-like voice with accurate pitches,others accord and esteem him with his ability to move crowd and audience. However,these talents find their greatest expression because of his love for God.
Currently the gospel icon for dynamics records, a subsidiary of Empire Entertainment and Bro.Simon is undoubtedly going to grow to be one of the worlds most celebrated and influential gospel icon to emerge from the African soil due to his humility in years to come.
He is heating up the church circuits with his energetic sound and colorful mix of contemporary and African praise and worship, with a style so diverse,he appeals to every preference.
