Silas Karikari Mensah Boateng was born son of the Brong Ahafo people, the Wenchi district of the Brong Ahafo region in Ghana, West Africa.
As the only son of four siblings of his parents who are alive and still married in Kumasi, Ghana.
Silas began singing while in the primary school, singing in the same church that he still sings at today. It is here that he found and developed this wonderful talent. He has been choir director right from the home church to sister churches through high school and even university. He was first noticed as a singer outside the church when he as on the Glo X Factor singing competition, Lagos – Nigeria in the Symphony trio group. Serving as the lead singer and also group head for the trio, his pure and unique voice attracted the group so much fans and applause anytime they were on stage since he was very outstanding. This took them to top six, very close to the finals after which they got evicted.

IMG_0514_PPThis also opened new horizon for Silas but instead of following the path of other celebrated groups, he left to find his own creative voice by returning to his gospel roots. What has emerged is a captivating performer with a strong and distinct style that is attracting attention everywhere.

He has a passion for gospel music and is renowned for his solo performances of blues, jazz, rnb, soul, classic and highlife gospel inspirational songs. The range and emotional power of his voice never fails to capture people’s whether in an intimate social setting or in a large area. Silas is a captivating performer with a strong distinct style. This was evident when on the 5th week of the Glo X Factor show, Silas broke a moment’s silence with his part of “put your head on my shoulder” by Paul Anka.

IMG_0471_ppSilas has performed with international singers like Majek Fashek (Nigeria) and Toni Mansion of Jazz Tone Productions (Ghana).

On both secular and gospel platforms, Silas raised standards and bars by rapping shoulders with local artists like Joe Mettle, Oware Junior, Eshun (X Factor), Laami (Project Fame), Francis Amo, Bernice Ofei and many more.
He has been in concerts again both gospel and secular in Kumasi, Accra, Tamale, Sunyani, Tema, cape coast, Bolgatanga and Koforidua. Currently Silas has released his his first single, a rendition of the traditional carol “Oh Holy Night/White Christmas” medley.
