PAULOS BRINGS DANNY NETTEY "TO LIFE"

It was as if sorrow had been poured on me as a rushing flood; my happiness quickly snatched by the wicked lash of the whip of an ancient slave master; on that “very cold” Friday morning when news of the passing of the musical gift – Danny Nettey hit my ears.
Apparently, it wasn’t just me who was broken hearted. In fact, the news of Danny’s eternal sleep had thrown the gospel music fraternity around the globe and the whole country into grief. In the weeks that followed, Danny Nettey’s songs probably had more airplay that it ever had while he was alive. Come to think of it, that was one whole year ago! Oh! How time flies.
It would be inappropriate and ungrateful to let the anniversary of the passing of such a legend go unmarked in style.
To immortalize the great memory of Danny Nettey and refresh our minds of the great gift we lost, PAUL DUAH (stage name; PAULOS), one of Danny’s own right hand men in music, brings us a beautiful rendition of ‘MALA LALA’ (MALA); a song whose original, Danny Nettey himself recorded with Paul alone. Aren’t we blessed?
‘MALA’ is a Ga (a native Ghanaian language) phrase which translates as ‘I’LL SING’. The song was one of the Hits on one of Danny’s latter albums; ‘I Believe’.
Paul Yaw Adanse-Pippim Duah was a friend to the maestro and one of the pillars of his musical career. Paul played with Danny in and out of Ghana, over the span of the latter’s career; building a solid friendship even outside the business and ministry of music.
At Danny Nettey’s funeral in 2016, Paulos played MALA amidst the watery eyes of Danny’s many well-wishers, hence a perfect song to eulogise him with.
The tribute song, MALA features Anang Sowah and Micheal Antonio; two very promising voices walking in the steps of Danny Nettey. In the song, Paul’s sweet guitar strings are colorfully wrapped around the young voices of Sowah and Mike to produce a sound that cushions the listener’s heart and reminds the believer that Danny is Home.
The song would be released on Monday, 31st July 2017; available for free download on GospelGh, youtube and many others.
Be on the lookout! Trust you me; YOU DON’T WANNA MISS THIS!
