Marks On My Cheeks Are 'Spiritual Marks' not Tribal Marks – Joe Mettle

Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle has two marks on his cheeks that in this part of the world are mainly as a result of one’s tribe. However, he has revealed that his marks are not related to his tribe as a lot of people may presume but for a different reason.
Joe Mettle on Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix, explained that the marks found on his face were as a result of spiritual assistance sought by his parents for some serious sickness when he was very young and nearly lost his life. According to him, his parents at the time jumped from one spiritualist to the other seeking healing and help from deities because they did not want to lose him.
The 2017 VGMAs artiste of the year said that his parents thought seeking succour from secret places would save his life but all their errands yielded no positive results until he met God at age 4.
Furthermore, Mr. Mettle admitted in the interview that his charges increased especially for corporate events after he won the envious Artiste of The Year award at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.
According to him, he does not charge the same fee for all events as well even for church events. He considers several factors and asks for particulars including the destination of the concert, the size of his team for the gig, bandsmen, transportation for movements and many other elements that come to play before giving a quote.
Joe added that, some event organisers even ask that they be at event grounds a day before the show for soundcheck “so all the details of the event are considered and then a budget is made to aid us to do the work that is required of us”.

Commenting on reactions that came from some sections of the public and especially some colleagues in the music sector after he won the VGMA Artiste Of The Year, the Ga-born musician stated that indeed some colleagues had the opinion that he didn’t deserve the nomination he got, let alone win the coveted award.
To him, he took those opinions especially that from the gospel industry in good faith because he knew very well that not all will hail him for the success attained.
In spite of all the pressure from society, the ‘Onwanwani’ hitmaker has declined to bow but revealed during the interview that he will tie the knot very soon.
Joe mentioned that he has a lucky lady in his life and they will be getting married very soon. Despite numerous follow-up questions by the host to reveal the exact date or year, Joe refused to announce it.
“There will be a ring on my finger soon. It won’t take long, it can be this year, it can be next year but it will just happen”, he said.
