His 2012 debut single ‘’Nhyira’’ has now become a regular on the playlist of many households. He is an inspirational singer and a deeply moving listening experience. Joe has two albums; ‘’My Gratitude’’ which he released in 2011 and ‘’Sound of Praise’’, a live recorded album released in 2013.
“The Encounter” album was recorded in June at the annual concert, Praiz Reloaded organised by Joe Mettle Ministries and Reverb Studios. The album was recorded live and features both traditional and contemporary grooves which sits on Godly inspired lyrics.
Some of the songs on the album are Mensuro, Ayeyi Ndwom and Let is rain. Joe believes the presence of God which is the fullness of joy must be accessible to all irrespective of language, race and tribe. Music is able to make that kind of impact but he believes the worship experience must live on even after the songs.
He began his music as a backup singer for Danny Nettey in the early 2000 and has had stints of music work with Cindy Thompson, Rev Tom Bright Davies and Soul Winners. He was the lead singer for this unique Ghanaian traditional band, Soul Winners and was the lead vocalist for the Group’s hit song ‘Aboloo’.
His first album as a solo artiste won the Best Male Vocalist, Best Video and the Best Song Writer at the 2012 edition of the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards. His Single, “Turning Around” which is on this new album also won the Best Male Vocal Performance Award at the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony.
