"I will marry very soon" says Obaapa Christy

“I will marry very soon but for now I’m more focused on my singing career” says celebrated gospel artiste, Obaapa Christy, formerly called Christiana Love.
The artiste, who has a string of songs to her credit, has been through trying times recently, with sordid details of her marriage to Pastor Love, becoming public. The 9-year-old marriage between the singer and her husband became a subject of public discussion as the two traded allegations and counter allegations about extra marital affairs.
Speaking on Adom FM’s midmorning show ‘Work and Happiness” hosted by Ohemaa Woyeje on Wednesday, Obaapa Christy revealed that though she encountered some challenges in her first marriage, she is still determined to pursue her gospel music career.

Born Christina Twene to Mr. Akwasi Twene and Madam Mary Amoah Twene in Kumasi, Obaapa Christy said she looks up to gospel giants like Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Georgia Adjei, Stella Aba Seal, Amy Newman and Nana Yaw Asare for inspiration and motivation.
She already has nine albums to her credit and her new album entitled “Sh3 br3 sesafo” (Destiny changer) is already making waves. She has won several awards for her inspirational and spiritually uplifting songs including Ghana Music Award and a National Award honours. Other tracks on the new album include “Aseda and Down fall of a man.”
“Most of the songs were through personal life experiences to encourage the individuals to have faith in God in challenging moments” Christy said.
Her incredible deep voice and unique hoarse tone combine to bring out a dynamic sound out of this sensational musician.
