Ghana is one country which can boast of music intellectuals or better still great song writers, composers and arrangers as records will show.
In our generation, we have not been left out of this gift as we still have young and energetic song writers in our country one of who is the affable and ubiquitous Michael Oware Sakyi also known in showbiz life as Minister OJ.
Michael Oware Sakyi who has three albums to his credit is one musician who has been able to justify himself by writing his name in the good books of this industry as far as song writing ability is concern.  Many had called him a teacher, an inspirational gospel musician, motivator, a performer and an instrumentalist. He actually deserves all these accolades because his songs writing skills, his antics on stage have all confirmed the above accolades attributed to him.
In recent times, people who are following OJ on his social media platforms can attest to the fact that a lot of his fans and followers are putting a lot of pressure on him to come out with his next album. Many are those who are with the view that, because of the messages that his songs carry, he should be seen releasing songs to his fans frequently. These calls and pressure have actually gotten into the ears of OJ and his management.
And in order to serve as a mediator between the fans of OJ and himself, this reporter decided to approach OJ and demand an answer from him to his fans as to when they should look up to his next album and he had this to tell Flex newspaper.
“I am so grateful to my fans for always looking up to me to release songs frequently. In fact, this encourages me to even work harder on my songs before I release them into the market in order not to disappoint my fans,” he told Flex newspaper.
“I am the type who takes a lot of time on any song I write. It goes through a lot of channels before it’s recorded. I have done that ever since I started doing professional music. I don’t allow myself to be pressured by the frequent releases of colleague musicians or time. Those are the only factors that can make a musician go into the studio and record just anything and put it out,” he added.
OJ also stated that he puts his all into the making of all his songs. Because of this, he doesn’t underrate any song he writes.
“I want to use this platform to assure my fans that, I will be releasing my next album as soon as I am done, I only need their prayers, encouragement and support. God bless them,” Michael Oware Sakyi further noted.
Songs that can be attributed to music gem OJ are: Obi Nya Waye, Kosoa Na Koso, Adom Ne Odo, Etesen, Fa Mpaebo, Tete Botan, Apor Jesu, Mayese Mopen, among others.
