TERROR! Gun Men Burn Down Rev. Abraham Lamptey’s Church [Photos]

Members of the Believers House Worship International were met with very unpleasant news on Monday, 28th August as Gun-wielding land-guards set their house of worship ablaze!
The horrific incident happened at the Church premise at Okpoi Gonno on the Spintex Road in Accra.

Narrating the incident in an interview, Rev. Abraham Lamptey, head Pastor of the Church, said “I was home today when I had a call that some 10 thugs, land guards had come to the church premise, chased everyone out of the place with guns, entered the auditorium, poured petrol and set the place ablaze, burning everything.
They fled in their pickup and got out of the place. Nobody could stand because they were holding guns and ready to shoot,”
The Manet Police is yet to commence investigations into circumstances that led to the action.
However, according to Rev. Lamptey, the Church was summoned to court over a suit challenging their ownership of the land about seven months ago.
He said the Church responded and there is an ongoing case in court to determine the rightful owner of the land and thus was shocked that the other party could take the law into their own hands and perpetuate the act.
He added that the church three months earlier, received threats from the land-guards.
Sharing in his empathy, gospel songstress Ohemaa Mercy posted on Facebook how lawlessness and disrespect to the church is gradually gaining root in this country.
“What is our country Ghana turning into. Lawlessness is gradually gaining root in this country and the most serious part is that this generation can take their lawlessness and disrespect for laws to the church. See how gun men entered my father Rev Abraham Lamptey’s Believers House of Worship Church and burnt everything down. God of Vengience they have attacked your house we leave it all to you.” She said.

The destroyed equipment amounting to several thousands of cedis include musical instruments, chairs and some electrical gadgets.
Some members of the church were also seen trying to salvage a few of the properties left in the auditorium later in the day.
