Dubbed “Stand In The Gap”, the event was an intense atmosphere of prayer led by the founder and Lead Pastor of the church, Prophet Gideon Danso.
According to Prophet Gideon, For a while now the Lord has been pressing on his heart that prayer should be taken to another level, and this has been boiling until last year after their Gathering Of the Clouds event. Also the timing was right to take prayer to another dimension where prayer is not prayed based on our personal needs.
“I think the reason why people don’t pray is because they pray ‘need oriented’ prayers; so when there’s a need they pray, but when the needs are met they stop praying or even when the needs are not met they get discouraged and still stop praying….
The Lord said, to set an atmosphere where prayer is taken to a dimension beyond us, where the body of Christ, can gather and pray and teach prayer” he said.
The second edition of Stand In The Gap saw a major overflow at the church’s main auditorium and even the heavy rains could not stop patrons from trooping in. With about seven thousand people recorded to have participated in the 2-day prayer marathon both at the church premise and online, the event promises to indeed become the go to place for prayer thirsty Christians of this generation.
The event hosted a great number of God’s generals including Steller Award winning American gospel singer, Travis Greene, Nigeria’s Nathaniel Bassey, Dr. Cindy Trimm of Cindy Timm Ministries, Pastor Edward Boateng – New Destiny Orlando/Ignite the Fire and Dr. E.B. Herman of Harvest Family Church among others.
Prophet Gideon revealed that even after the first day they had started recording numerous testimonies from patrons.
Stand in the Gap is Empowerment Worship Centre’s annual 48 hour nonstop prayer marathon. The event is instituted with the vision to provide an avenue for all believers to gather and pray strategically for answers.
