Diana Hamilton counsels pregnant mothers against self-medication

Gospel artiste, Diana Antwi Hamilton, is asking pregnant women to desist from taking unprescribed medication.
She observes the dangerous practice cost lives of both mother and babies.
This is coupled with the rise in maternal mortality, hence this kind gesture aimed at supporting the hospital in fighting the menace.
She, however, called on all Ghanaians to also play their part in ensuring that maternal mortality is eliminated from the country.
Diana, a trained nurse, spoke after donating assorted medical equipment to Kumasi Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.
The items worth 1,000 pounds include infrared thermometer, blood pressure monitors, disposable face mask, and other play toys for children.
“A friend of the hospital called that they needed support to save life
I expect for lives to be saved with this equipment. I expect the nation to turn their eyes to this hospital. I expect mothers to take care of themselves when they get pregnant and I expect children to live healthy,” she said.
Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Kofi Boah Hamilton who received the donation on behalf of the facility explained the gesture was timely.
The hospital established in 1910, according to him, needs in addition to equipment, infrastructure expansion.
Dr. Hamilton promised to keep the items safe and use them for their intended purpose to benefit the mothers and babies who visit the facility.
